Terms of Service
Last updated: March 14, 2026
1. Acceptance of Terms
By downloading, installing, or accessing Rawframe (the "Engine"), the Rawframe website, Mod Market, or any associated services (collectively, the "Platform"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree to these Terms, do not use the Platform. These Terms constitute a legally binding agreement between you and Rawframe ("we", "us", or "our"). You must be at least 13 years of age to use the Platform.
2. Account Registration
Certain features of the Platform — including publishing mods, rating content, and accessing community features — require a registered account. When creating an account you agree to:
- Provide accurate, current, and complete information during registration.
- Keep your password secure and not share it with others.
- Notify us immediately of any unauthorised use of your account.
- Take responsibility for all activity that occurs under your account.
We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms, impersonate others, or are involved in fraudulent activity. You may not create an account if you have previously been permanently banned from the Platform.
3. User Content & Mods
Rawframe is a community-driven platform. You may create and publish mods, scripts, assets, and other content ("User Content") using the provided tools and APIs. By submitting User Content you grant Rawframe a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to host, display, and distribute that content through the Platform.
- You retain ownership of User Content you create.
- User Content must not contain malware, exploits, or code designed to harm other users or systems.
- User Content must not infringe third-party intellectual property rights, including copyrighted assets.
- Mods that bypass the Luau sandbox or attempt to access system resources outside the engine API are strictly prohibited.
- We reserve the right to remove User Content that violates these Terms without prior notice.
4. Purchases & Refunds
Rawframe is available for purchase as a one-time payment. Community mods on the Mod Market are free, though some premium content may be offered for purchase by creators. All purchases are final unless the content is materially different from its description or a technical fault on our part prevents delivery.
- Refund window: Refund requests must be submitted within 14 days of purchase.
- Eligibility: Refunds are not available for content that has been downloaded and used in a published server.
- Creator payouts: Mod creators receive 70% of each sale. Payouts are processed monthly once a minimum threshold is reached.
- Taxes: You are responsible for any applicable taxes on purchases in your jurisdiction.
To request a refund, contact us through the support page with your order reference and reason.
5. Code of Conduct
All users are expected to treat others with respect across all Platform spaces including in-game, on the Mod Market, and in community channels. The following behaviours are prohibited:
- Harassment, hate speech, or discrimination based on race, gender, religion, nationality, or any other characteristic.
- Cheating, exploiting bugs, or using unauthorised third-party software to gain an advantage in multiplayer.
- Distributing or linking to malicious software, phishing sites, or scam content.
- Spamming, flooding chat, or disrupting the experience of other players.
- Attempting to access or modify other users' accounts or data without authorisation.
Violations may result in a warning, temporary suspension, or permanent ban depending on severity. Serious legal violations will be reported to relevant authorities.
6. Intellectual Property
The Rawframe engine source code is licensed under the MIT Licence. The Rawframe name, logo, and website design are proprietary and may not be used without prior written permission. Third-party libraries bundled with the engine are subject to their respective licences (SDL3, bgfx, Flecs, Jolt, ENet, miniaudio, Luau, and others — see the repository for full licence notices).
You may not claim Rawframe branding as your own, represent unaffiliated projects as official Rawframe products, or use the engine name in a way that implies endorsement by us.
7. Termination
We may suspend or permanently terminate your access to the Platform at our sole discretion, with or without notice, if we believe you have violated these Terms or engaged in conduct harmful to other users or the Platform. You may also terminate your account at any time by contacting us.
Upon termination, your right to use the Platform ceases immediately. User Content you have published may remain visible on the Platform unless you have explicitly requested its removal prior to account deletion. Sections of these Terms that by their nature should survive termination will do so.
8. Limitation of Liability
The Platform is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind, express or implied. To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Rawframe and its contributors are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of or inability to use the Platform, including but not limited to loss of data, loss of profits, or server downtime.
Our total cumulative liability to you for any claims arising out of these Terms shall not exceed the greater of (a) the total amount you paid to us in the twelve months preceding the claim, or (b) $50 USD.
9. Changes to Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time to reflect changes in the Platform, legal requirements, or community standards. When we do, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page and, where the changes are material, notify registered users by email or in-platform notification.
Continued use of the Platform after changes take effect constitutes your acceptance of the revised Terms. If you do not agree with a change, you must stop using the Platform before the changes take effect.
