About Rawframe

We're building the platform where communities create their own games.

Our Mission

We believe the most compelling games aren't made by studios — they're made by players. Rawframe exists to lower every barrier between an idea and a playable experience. We build the engine; the community builds the world.

What is Rawframe?

Rawframe is a game creation platform designed from the ground up for community-made games. The engine ships with no built-in gameplay — no campaign, no story, no prescribed objective. Instead, every piece of gameplay content is created and maintained by the community through first-class game-creation tools.

Server operators run custom experiences — survival servers, roleplay worlds, competitive game modes — all powered by Luau scripts with access to 867 engine API functions.

The engine runs on Windows, Linux, macOS, Android, and iOS. Built with a cross-platform rendering pipeline supporting Vulkan, Metal, DirectX, and OpenGL ES, a full 3D physics engine, lightweight UDP networking, and a fast sandboxed scripting runtime.

Every engine system — rendering, physics, audio, ECS, networking — is accessible from Lua. A asset that crashes is safely isolated in its own VM and cannot affect the engine or other assets.
